Eastern Bike’s Brett Silva just built up a new Eastern Vaquero. We met up at what appeared to be an abandoned motel to shoot a crazy photo (at the end of the bike check) and grab a few frames of his set up.

Brett ... with his Eastern Vaquero 21.25

Frame:  Eastern Vaquero 21.25    Bars:  Terrible 1  8.85   Fork:  Eastern Hawkeye    Pedals:  Eastern   Cranks:  Eclat   Sprocket:  Shogun 25 tooth   Wheels: Venue’s   (..they can handle the big drops… look at the photos at the end…)  Back Tire:  Fuquay Folding   Front Tire:  Shadow   Headset:  Eastern  Stem:  Animal  Grips: ODI Longnecks   Seat Post:  KInk   Seat:  Duo  Hubs:

What I like best about …..  Best Frame I have ever ridden.  The bigger dropouts in the back make me  feel safe. And it’s the perfect height for me.    BS    I never realized that your intials are B S , just a thought.

I have been shooting a lot lately and have stockpiled a bunch of nice pictures that I am sure some  have been waiting to to see. This group is from Skater’s Edge in Taunton, Mass. If you don’t see something here, it may be over on the Flickr page as well.  Be sure to use the back button if you open the photos…..TW

There are still are still a ton of pictures to post.  A few have been added our Flickr Site (link on the left) and I will be posting more pictures this week. Also, coming soon is a Session of Rye Airfiled Photos.  TW

Andrew Marfoli is a triple threat. He can ride, film,  and also shoot some pretty sweet photos. So instead of 6 photos, we decided to show 3 photos and 3 edits along with a quick interview at the end.

I sent along a few questions and Andrew was kind enough to provide some answers.

Age…   18

Home Town…  Malden Mass!

Current set up…  Canon T2i, Canon 50 1.8, Tokina 11-16 2.8, Manfrotto Tripod, Glidecam, 150 led panel.

Next piece of gear your looking to get…    Either a slider or a Sigma 30 1.4

One piece of gear you can’t live without…    Definitely a tripod. I can’t  stand shaky footage.

Favorite place to shoot…  Boston, but riding around with all my gear isn’t so fun.

Plans for the future/what’s next…  I would like to make a short film with friends, no official plans yet.

Favorite photographer/filmer, or any influences…  Joe Simon for sure!

If I could go anywhere I would go…  London!

Tomato’s are…  Great friends

If you had to choose between riding and shooting...  I would have to go with riding. I have made so many awesome friends from it.

Shout outs...  Shout out to my parents who have supported me for all the crazy ideas and phases I’ve been through, Rye Airfield, Scott Criv for this interview and inspiring me to go somewhere with my video work, and all the homies who deal with me shoving a camera in the face all the time!

Thanks Andrew for taking the time…    We look forward to seeing what’s next…  TW

Pic Six…  is an idea that we have had for awhile. There are a lot of rider/photographers-filmers that are producing some great stuff without much notice. So we hope to do our part in helping  shed some light and expose them when we can. First up…..Tim Turner.   Tim Turner is a New Bedford based BMX rider and photographer. Tim sent over 6 of his favorite photos along with answers to a short interview.  TW

Current set up:  Canon EOS Rebel T3i, with a battery grip, I use my 18-55mm alot and I have 2 Nikon SB-24′ speedlights with transmitters.

Plans for the future:  I am just doing this as a hobby, but if something came out of it , that would be an amazing outcome.

Next piece of gear your looking to get:  Not really sure, probably a better fisheye lens.

Favorite place to shoot:  New Bedford overpass at dusk or night.

Favorite photographer, or any influences:  I don’t have a favorite, but I’m inspired by independent photographers.

This is … Jacob Hammond.

Jacob Hammond as..."himself"

Jacob is a 10 year old shredder from Holbrook  Mass. I have seen Jacob ripping up  Skater’s Edge,  in Taunton MA.,  a bunch of times and have always wanted to take the time to shoot a few pictures.  He is a true mini-pro,  always down to do “just one more” .. It can take me a few tries sometimes.

So many to choose, and so little space.....

Jacob was such good sport that we ended up with so many good shots.  It’s easy to see why Jacob has done so well in every contest that he has entered.  Thanks for the inspiration Jacob….keep shredding… I am sure we will shoot again soon.   Scott
